Leeds Country Way 6 & 7

Leeds Country Way 6 & 7

Walk 5 of the Leeds Country Way started off in Robin Hood.  If you like motorways you’ll love this section.  We walked over the M1.  We walked in some countryside. Made our way over the M62.  Then walked back to the M1, headed away from the M1 to then walk back to it again.  The motorways were our constant companion on this southern leg of the circle.

Pretty blossoms

I can’t really remember anything very memorable about this section apart from the rain. We had proper little April showers (that weren’t so light).

Heading up a narrow path past a stream

This section came in just short of 6 miles.

Part 7.

This was the section that I have enjoyed the most so far. Varied terrain and it felt like we were actually out in the countryside.  We said goodbye to the M1 as we left the south of Leeds and only crossed the M62 once.

Quite a bit of the walk was using an old railway line which made for easy walking.  That was until I had missed a turning and we all had to walk up a really steep hill to get onto our path.  Now normal people may have gone back to find the path, but not us trailblazers.

Why is it when you try to take a picture of a hill, it always looks like a gentle slope?

There were a lot of horses on this section as well.  I think every person that lives in the south west of Leeds owns a horse.

Towards the end of the walk we met this colourful fella

This section was 7 miles
