So I have about 25 walks to write up, but I just haven’t been bothered to blog lately. However, today’s walk was something special.
I checked out the weather forecast and the MET office said, “hell yeah, go for your walk. It’ll be dry with moderate visibility.” Great times ahead then I thought.
We had a 10 mile circular walk that took in Pateley Bridge and Coldstone Cut planned. As we were getting further into the Dales though, the fog kept getting worse. It was horrendous! We get to the carpark at Coldstones Cut and made a decision to instead check out the sculpture (which from the air looks like a uterus) and skip the walk.
You leave the carpark (HG3 5BJ) and everything is nicely signposted with well maintained footpaths. We checked ouut Toft Gate lime kiln first before walking up the hill to the Coldstones Cut sculpture.

The views over the Dales were amazing.

I guess that we’ll try the walk another time and hopefully see the amazing views that are supposed to be there.
As Louise said today, 2/10 for the weather.
We did however make a very wise decision to drive to Pateley Bridge. We ate an amazing lunch in the pub and did a bit of shopping at the sweet shop.
10/10 for Pateley Bridge. Every time I’ve been there I think it’s lovely.
