Ladybower Reservoir

Ladybower Reservoir

This was our second walk of the day.  When we’ve had to drive for a little while we try to make the day of it.  We spent the morning doing the Overexposed walk and then onto Ladybower in the afternoon.

What was nice about Ladybower was Zara and I had completed the Edale Skyline walk back in March and had taken a photo from the trig point of Winhill Pike with Ladybower in the background.

I think there are a few different routes around Ladybower however we did the circular route around the north facing bit.  There was plenty of parking along with toilets and a cafe for ice cream to start the walk.

Derwent Dam at the top of the reservoir

There are good paths all around on this circular walk.  Just be careful near some of the edges.

I believe this is normally all under water

The water was really low during our visit and we were able to see where the houses had been flooded to make the reservoir.

A very low reservoir
A look up the reservoir from the bridge on snake pass

A nice circular walk at just under 6 miles which finished off our day in this beautiful area.
