Six Dales trail part 2.

We walked the second part of the six Dales trail today from Blubberhouses to Pateley Bridge.

Starting off in Blubberhouses we followed the river Washburn up to Thruscross Reservoir.  We skirted the eastern bank of the reservoir before walking up the valley towards the water tower.

Thruscross Reservoir being held back by this dam wall.

From the water tower we headed downhill and then up a hill.  Over some more farmland.  We went over so many styles that the walk should have been named the many styles way instead.

Lots of farmland
We finally saw some moor land at Heyshaw Moor.

We then walked back down hill and through some woods down into the Nidderdale Valley and our third Dale of this long distance walk.

River Nidd.

We crossed a bridge over the river Nidd and then followed a nice river path all the way to Pateley Bridge.

A nice easy walk coming in at 13.72km perfect for a Saturday afternoon of easy walking.

We’re now half way through the six dales trail and looking forward to completing the rest of the walk.
