I would like to pretend that we were discussing literary classics whilst doing this walk, but alas the book talk was a little low brow with conversations of pirate smut.
We started our walk in Haworth and quickly arrived in Penistone Country Park. I was very excited to spot on the map that there was a trig point, so we had to make a slight detour to make me happy.

Getting back onto the path we continued onwards leaving the country park and entering Haworth Moor. With the path being pretty good we were making excellent time and soon reached Brontë Falls & Bridge.

After the bridge and a brief ascent we swung right and picked up the Pennine Way over Stanbury Moor. I’ve walked so many stretches of the Pennine Way, I do wonder if I’ll walk the whole thing at some point. There were still patches of snow on the top of the moor so the girls had a snowball fight.

Following the Pennine Way we eventually got to Top Withens. Top Withens is cited as the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. It’s now a ruined farmhouse, but in the 1800s I imagine it looked different.

We then headed back down and to the car. A great afternoon walk, albeit a bit cold and cloudy on the top of the Moor.
